1) Going on a summer camp alone taught me valuable lessons in independence. I gained the ability to manage my own stuff as well as finances without relying on my parents.Â
2) Through new experiences in the summer camp, I've gained confidence and courage. As someone who typically keeps to myself, I used to be pretty shy and stuck in my own bubble. It was hard for me to try new things or go to new places. However, on my recent trip overseas, I challenged myself by traveling alone, studying, and sharing rooms with new friends. Rather than being timid and avoiding socializing, I actively started the conversation with others instead. And now we're super close to each other.
3) Although I got used to presentations since I had done a lot of them in ILA. However, during this summer trip, I learned how to prepare a presentation in a short amount of time and find the perfect balance between studying and having fun. I really appreciate Mr.O and Ms.Megan for all their hard work and enthusiasm in making our lessons both informative and enjoyable.
4) One of the most valuable lessons I've learned is how important it is to stay optimistic. At first, I wasn't too excited about going to summer camp since I was struggling in school and feeling pretty down. I tended to think negatively and always wondered why things seemed so unfair. But it turned out that this trip was actually an amazing gift from life. Meeting Ms.Megan, Mr.O, Ms.K, and the Annabel Team was such a pleasure. It helped me see that even when things get tough, I don't have to view everything through a negative lens. Instead, I can choose to be optimistic and stay curious about the world around me. That way, I can explore insightfully the beauty of life and all sorts of things I never knew.
