Project Abstract: The Loker Student Union (LSU) is a place full of diversity; students from all over the world speaking different languages to be a part of the Toros family at CSUDH. This project examines the language(s) used at LSU, the multimodalities present, the linguistic landscapes, and the sounds that make up LSU.

As indicated in the map's legend: The first location that you will encounter, even before entering LSU, is the (1) North Lawn Patio, then (2) the North Lawn. Once inside, the first dining options you will notice are (3) Mexican Food, then (4) Panda Express; if you look to your left there is a (5) Subway sandwich eatery, and so on and so forth.
Project Abstract: The Korean Friendship Bell is a location full of history and beauty. Located by the coast of San Pedro, this bell stands with the symbolism of peace and unity between The United States and Korea. Within this project, we look at the linguistic soundscape and the modalities within the location.

When stepping into this location you can truly feel the unity that the bell signifies and feel the powerful costal breeze of the pacific ocean.
Project Abstract: The dining area, or food court, at the Del Amo Fashion Center is a thriving space that brings people together from all across Southern California. The mall's food court presents a diverse array of flavors, cultures, and languages, all of which offer guests a distinct dining experience in the heart of Torrance, California. Through observations, informal interviews, and an examination of the semiotic landscape, the present study dives into the food court's vibrant atmosphere to explore its cuisines, its accessibility, and how the space fosters a sense of community and inclusivity. Together, we will uncover the linguistic and cultural tapestry that makes the Del Amo Fashion Center's food court a melting pot of experiences.
