In 2019, I was selected to be a Site Leader for Mizzou Alternative Breaks, which is an orgnaization on campus that does student-led service trips across the US. My service trip was at Crowder State Park in Missouri. Our duties included repainting community bathrooms and cleaning out buildings and dorms used for camps.
Site Leader for MAB
In 2018, I had the experience of leading a student service trip to Broken Arrow, OK where we served at Safari's Sanctuary, a private exotic animal rescue. Daily activities included cleaning animals living quarters, feeding and medicating, and interacting with the animals themselves. This is a picture of sweet Langley, a tiliger who was illegally bred and rescued by the sanctuary. Langley experienced many developmental stunts during his life due to the unnatural breeding of a liger and a tiger. Langley passed away in 2020 and was only a few years old. Langley inspires me everday to continue to advocate for One Health and campaign for animal rights.
This was my Service Learning Internship I completed to receive my minor in Leadership & Public Service. Daily activities included harvesting and planting crops, building community gardens, and properly washing all food.
Global Brigades Public Health trip
In 2019, I traveled to Chandala, Honduras to build outdoor bathrooms for families who did not have plumbing or electricity. I also facilitated a "classroom session" for kids in the community on how to stay safe and healthy in their home.
Head Liaison for Skit during Mizzou's Homecoming
During my undergraduate experience, I had the pleasure of creating an original 12 minute skit that was to be performed for Homecoming week at Mizzou. My sorority, Sigma Kappa, is paired with fraternity houses each year to compete with other sororities for the best Homecoming performances and art displays.
