The idea of the Public Health Essential Services is to provide a framework for public health to protect and promote health of all people in all communities. These services and functions are the key to expand development on public health community initiatives. All communities should be involved in these activities to reduce barriers that have resulted in health inequities.
My persuasive oral report for my communications class during my undergraduate degree focused on environmental health and the future devastating consequences that will happen if the world does not take action to improve the environment. This report also stresses the topic of One Health and how each segment of the foundation will be negatively impacted by climate change. I also highlight details about how to increase your carbon footprint in simple, efficient solutions.
The top four issues identified within the 2019 Mecklenburg Community Health Assessment were mental health, access to care, chronic disease prevention, and violence prevention. In 2017, Mecklenburg County Public Health led a community health assessment and identified the needs of these four issues. In 2019, Novant Health began a community needs assessment comparing health needs of the community with social determinants data to benefit the community. Community agencies and stakeholders will continue to plan measurable and attainable actions to address the top four health issues that were identified.
