Gx means that the season is open to female and non-binary players, those that feel most comfortable matching up against female-identifying players on the opposing team. The term Gx has replaced Girls to be more inclusive of all of our players.
About the Gx teams
We are proud to have both varsity and junior varsity teams! Each filled with incredible athletes who bring their best every single day. Every player shows true commitment to the game, balancing dedication in the classroom with passion on the field. They don’t just practice; they show up with heart, discipline, and a drive to grow, pushing themselves and each other to be better every day.
Behind every great team stands a group of exceptional coaches. Their leadership, belief, and guidance make all the difference. This season we are lucky to have Shanti Chier, Dana Fried, Katie Lanier, Souma Yabuski and Stan Birdsong as our couches. Find out more about them in the Meet The Coaches section.
Behind every winning team are individuals who come together, building trust, lifting one another up, and moving as one. When we connect, commit, and believe in each other, we don’t just play, we win as one.
Dana has coached Lincoln Mixed and Gx since 2024. She played on Carleton Eclipse and has played frisbee in Europe, Asia and South America.
Shanti is in her first-year coaching Lincoln Gx. She's played for Roosevelt, Carleton Szyzgy and Seattle Underground. She's worked for DiscNW for the past 5 years including their Summer Youth Ultimate Camps and has coached for SevenHills.
Kate is also in her first-year coaching Lincoln Gx. She has played for Carleton College, Seattle Tempest, Seattle Riot, and multiple worlds teams.
Souma has coached Lincoln Gx since 2023. He has played for the University of Washington, Birdfruit and Switchback.
Stan has coached Lincoln Gx and Bx since 2024. He has played for Carleton, Chain Lightning, Ring of Fire, and Sockeye.
Maddy has started the Lincoln Gx program and is our 'coach emeritus'...
Players are expected to commit to their team, attending practices and games.
Varsity players typically have 3-4 events per week and Varsity 2 / Junior Varsity has 2-3 events per week. Times are a mix of afternoons and evenings depending on coach and field availability. Games are on weekdays, not weekends. Away games depend on the home team's field times. Occasionally these require players leaving 6th period early to get to the field in time for warming up. Carpools are essential.
Because we are a club sport parents cover all expenses, though assistance could be available. Fees include coaching stipends, fields, equipment, jerseys, financial aid.
