1. Introduction
Lincoln Archers are fully committed to safeguarding children, young people, and vulnerable adults by:
Ensuring that the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults is paramount.
Creating and maintaining the safest environment possible for children, young people and vulnerable adults participating in Archery.
Taking all reasonable steps to promote safe practice and to protect children, young people and vulnerable adults from harm, abuse, and exploitation.
Promoting an ethos which embraces difference and diversity, and respects the rights of children, young people, and vulnerable adults
Children and young people refer to people under the age of 18.
2. Purpose of the Policy
To promote the safety and welfare of children and vulnerable adults.
To set out the club’s commitments and what is required from all involved in archery to protect children and vulnerable adults from harm.
3. Scope
This policy applies to all individuals involved in the club including members, parents/guardians of juniors, club officers and coaches.
4. Policy Statements
The club is committed to following the guidelines and policies provided by Archery GB.
The club will ensure that all activities are conducted in a safe, positive environment.
5. Responsibilities
The club has a designated Safeguarding Officer.
All concerns about the safety or wellbeing of a child should be reported to the Safeguarding Officer.
6. Recruitment
The club will follow safe recruitment practices, including the use of Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks provided by Archery GB.
7. Training
All staff and volunteers will receive appropriate safeguarding training as outlined by ArcheryGB
8. Reporting Concerns
Procedures for reporting and handling concerns or allegations of abuse will follow Archery GB ‘Safeguarding and Protecting Children and Young People Reporting Procedures’ document
9. Codes of Conduct
All archers, volunteers and coaches will abide by the Archery GB Code of Conduct.
10. Anti-Bullying
The club will comply with its anti-bullying policy Lincoln Archers Bullying Policy
11. Use of Photographic and Recorded Images
The club has guidelines on taking and using images of young people. Lincoln Archers use of Photographic and Recorded Images Policy
12. Communication and Social Media

13. Event Planning
The club will plan events and competitions with consideration for the safety and welfare of young people.
14. Review
The policy will be reviewed at least annually by the Safeguarding Officer and updated as necessary.
