Technology Policy:
LightMUN II is a no-technology conference; the use of laptops, phones, or any devices that connect to the internet will not be permitted while committee is in session. Violation of this policy will result in immediate dismissal from committee and disqualification for any awards.
Plagiarism/AI:
Plagiarism or the use of AI in position papers, resolutions papers, debate materials, or directives will result in immediate disqualification from awards and the contact of the school sponsor.
Prewriting:
Prewriting of any kind (writing structured resolutions, private directives, etc.) prior to the start of the committee and in between committee sessions is strictly prohibited. Delegates may only work on resolutions and directives during committee sessions unless stated otherwise by your committee’s dias.
Behavior & Conduct
Delegates are expected to act professionally at all times. This includes being respectful to all delegates, chairs, and staff. Failure to adhere to this policy can lead to disciplinary action such as disqualification from awards.
Position Paper Policy:
All General Assemblies and Specialized Committees require a position paper to be eligible for awards. Plagiarism of any kind will not be tolerated and can result in immediate disqualification from the committee.
Position Paper Guidelines:
Must be in Times New Roman, 12-point, single-spaced.
Citations must be in MLA or APA format for both topics at the end of paper.
Papers must be professional and written in third-person perspective.
There must be three sections per topic:
Topic Background
Country Position
Possible Solutions
Dress Code:
Western business attire is expected across all committees.
