A Best Delegate, Outstanding Delegate(s), Honorable Delegate(s), and Verbal Accomodations will be awarded for each committee.

Best Delegate

At Lightridge High School, the Best Delegate award should go to the delegation that demonstrates remarkable diplomacy skills. They should be an effective communicator, a creative problem solver, and be skilled at collaboration with diverse groups of people.

This looks like: 

• making memorable speeches which communicate specific and knowledgeable ideas

• empowering other delegations to contribute their skills to the team effort

• demonstrating a depth of knowledge of the subject and introducing thoughtful of the solutions

• exhibiting behaviors which are in line with the United Nation's mission of Peace, Dignity, and Equality

• in a crisis committee: using private and public directives to advance plot and debate

Lightning Peacebuilder Award

The Peacebuilding award is to honor a young person who demonstrates exemplary character through inclusiveness, positivity, and generosity. 

This looks like: 

• Noticing when individuals are struggling to be heard, and making sure their voice is included in conversations

• Being a friend to others, both in and outside of the official committee session

• Consistently using a tone that conveys acceptance and kindness 

• Regardless of their role in the committee, they treat teammates as partners and not subordinates
