Bringing People Together & Fostering Collaboration
Knowledge is power. UNITY builds empires!
LET’S DO AMAZING THINGS FOR OURSELVES & THE WORLD!

Mission of the project:

On today’s AVERAGE farm, animals used for food are crammed by the thousands into filthy, windowless sheds or stuffed into wire cages, metal crates, and other torturous devices. Billions of fish—along with “nontarget” animals, including sharks, sea turtles, birds, seals, and whales—are caught each year by the commercial fishing industry. These Poor Animals ABUSED for our food supply will never raise their families, root around in the soil, build nests, or do anything else that’s natural and important to them. Most won’t even feel the warmth of the sun on their backs or breathe fresh air until the day they’re loaded onto trucks headed for slaughterhouses.

It is our Sacred Duty to rise above these insane practices... We will not stop the eating of meat any time soon, so instead we aim to perfect the industry by perfecting humane practices, giving these beautiful creatures the best lives we possibly can!!! Hopefully, better than nature, even...

We recognize that animals are unique, feeling individuals with their own wants and needs. This is why we work behind the scenes with companies to get delicious vegan options added at restaurants and stores across the country, among other efforts.

Animals Used for Food

Animals Used for Food Usually Endure Constant Fear and Torment

  • They’re often given so little space that they can’t even turn around or lie down comfortably. Egg-laying hens are kept in small cages, chickens and pigs are kept in jam-packed sheds, and cows are kept on crowded, filthy feedlots.

  • Animals endure mutilations such as debeaking, dehorning, and castration without painkillers.

  • Most farmed animals have been genetically manipulated to grow larger or to produce more milk or eggs than they naturally would. Some chickens grow so large that their legs cannot support their outsized bodies, and they suffer from starvation or dehydration when they can’t walk to reach food and water.

  • Many fish on aquafarms suffer from parasitic infections, diseases, and debilitating injuries. Conditions on some farms are so horrendous that millions of fish die before farmers can kill and package them for food.

  • In the foie gras industry, pipes or tubes are shoved down the throats of ducks and geese three times daily so that 4 pounds of grain can be pumped into their stomachs to produce the diseased “fatty liver” that some diners consider a delicacy.

  • Babies are torn away from the sides of their loving mothers, and the nourishment that the mothers long to provide their offspring is instead shipped off for human consumption.

What About Animals on ‘Humane’ Farms?

Animals on organic and “free-range” farms often endure the same cruel mutilations as those on other farms. At the end of their miserable lives, these animals are typically shipped on trucks to the same slaughterhouses used by massive factory farms.

Remember: “Organic,” “natural,” “humane,” “pasture-raised,” “grass-fed,” and “free-range” are just labels, which almost every farm tries to work around in every way possible. These labels represent little more than efforts to make consumers feel better—they often mean little to nothing for the animals involved.

How Most Animals Used for Food Are Killed

When their bodies wear out from producing milk or eggs, animals raised for food are crowded onto trucks and transported for miles through all weather extremes, typically without food or water. At the slaughterhouse, the throats of those who survived the transport are slit, often while they’re still conscious. Many remain alert when they’re plunged into the scalding-hot water of the defeathering or hair-removal tanks. Some are even still awake while their bodies are being skinned or hacked apart. Most animals killed for food are practically babies, slaughtered after just a few months—far short of their natural life expectancy.

The Perks of Eating Vegan

Eating vegan can be good for your health. There is no nutritional need for humans to eat any animal product. All our dietary needs—even as infants and children—can easily be supplied by a balanced meatless diet. The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics claims that eating plant-based foods reduces the risk of suffering from many chronic degenerative diseases and conditions, including heart disease, cancer, hypertension, diabetes, and obesity.

Raising animals for food currently wastes massive amounts of resources. Two-thirds of all agricultural land in the U.S. is used to raise animals for food or to grow grain to feed them. Chickens, pigs, cattle, and other animals raised for food are the primary consumers of water in the U.S.: A single pig consumes 21 gallons of drinking water per day, while a cow on a dairy farm drinks as much as 50 gallons daily. Farms produce billions of pounds of manure daily, which ends up in lakes, rivers, and even drinking water.

You Can Help Animals Used for Food

With so many great vegan options coming to light, eating green has never been more delicious. Whether you go vegan for animals, the environment, or your health, you have the power to change the world, simply by changing what’s on your plate.

We have all the Resources you’ll need to get started, including the following:

  • Order a vegan starter kit

  • Check out this vegan meal plan for inspiration

  • Take action to get more vegan options added at chain restaurants

  • Share this page with your friends, family, and social media followers. Let them know how easy it is to start making a difference for animals used for food today!

Hunger Research

To create the right solutions to end hunger, we must understand the people and communities facing hunger. Every year, Feeding America conducts research like the Map the Meal Gap study to learn more about food insecurity in local communities.

We are a community operated farm enthusiastically providing access to affordable, organic produce while passionately and actively educating and encouraging sustainable, modern agricultural practices and industry in the Southern Colorado region, simultaneously acting as an advocate for resource conservation.

To create a food network that delivers good food you can trust, greater food autonomy and self-sufficiency by harnessing our collective buying power, knowledge and energy.

Fruit and Vegetables

We want to give you as much flexibility and choice as possible when it comes to buying good quality, fresh fruit, and veg. Use this option to top up your small or large veg box or just create your own box with everything you want.

IMPORTANT: We have moved all fruit and veg and our veg boxes to Preorder ONLY. Please check the dates for delivery below for the Preorder and select the date that suits you from that date when checking out...

Vegetable Boxes

These veg boxes are mainly grown and packed by The Wright Root in Coupar Angus in Perthshire...the heart of Scotland. Subject to demand and availability certain items may be sourced from other local and overseas growers.

IMPORTANT: When placing an order for a veg box we would also ask that you consider ordering some other pantry, food, household cleaning, and personal care products as it creates far more effective delivery runs and helps you move more of your budget away from the large supermarkets.

Fresh Organic Meat

Introducing our incredible collection of fresh organic Meat and Poultry, sourced from two of Scotland's finest organic farmers, Hugh Grierson Organic and Peelham Farm.

To ensure a seamless delivery experience, we kindly request that all orders be placed by 9 am on Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday. This allows us to align with our delivery runs scheduled for Wednesday, Thursday,, and Friday. We strongly recommend ordering your meat at least 3 full days before your preferred delivery date. By adhering to this timeframe, we can guarantee the precise stock levels necessary to fulfill your order.

If you have any questions or require further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact our friendly team.

After attending this program, Anyone could see and understand the benefits of eating grass-fed and free-range meats, and I thought that this was a message that everyone needed to see and feel for themselves.

So I have since spent my time sourcing high-quality grass-fed and free-range meats and the best prices, to ensure that they are accessible to everyone.

My background as a chef has allowed me to seal and understand all the health benefits of eating meats the way nature intended us to, from mental clarity, gut health, down to our immune system.

The Good Food Project was initially created to support The Change Room's messaging and help people on workers compensation who were experiencing physical and mental pain. We created food packs filled with grass-fed and free-range meats which allowed people to experience the difference when consuming high-quality food products.

After hearing the incredible success stories from so many people who were improving their physical and mental health, we decided to expand the project to reach the larger community by continuing to source and supply the best meats across NSW.

Our mission is to provide high quality, grass-fed and free-range, affordable meats as well as food education to as many people as possible, so everyone can

Hunger is a complex problem. We can solve it together.

We know that hunger is a complex issue, so we have dedicated a program that will address this world issue, tackling it from all angles. We're working to improve access to nutritious food, expand economic security, working to educate the people, and striving to ensure policies  that make it easier for people to get the food they need.

We’re part of a nationwide network of food banks, food pantries and community-based organizations in the United States working to create a future where no one is hungry.

The Good Food Project, a cooperative farming project, was spearheaded in 2014, in partnership with the Trinidad Community Food Cooperative, The Trinidad Farmer’s Market, and Earth Mountain Education Farm.

Three acres of what had been a hay field was transformed into an organically grown polyculture, or mixed vegetable, crop. The crops being grown are increasing access to healthy local foods, offering sustainable agriculture economy and education, as well as building a connected community.

Everyone needs nutritious food to thrive. And, while people are working hard to provide for themselves and their families, approximately 49 million people—that's one in six people in the U.S.—still relied on food assistance from charities like Feeding America in 2022.

The Good Food Project is an initiative for the people of the UK who want cleaner and more ethically sourced food as well as safer and better quality household cleaning and personal care products.

We want greater food autonomy and self sustainability.

We want to leverage the power of our combined purchasing power to negotiate the best deals and prices whilst supporting smaller businesses, farmers and growers who share our ethos and values.

We want to grow more of our own food in our back gardens and in our local communities as well as investing in land.

We want to make our own food and other products in our own commercial premises to provide more security of supply and quality in an uncertain world.

We want to create good jobs for good people to service our members in highly efficient customer-centric hubs located in major regions throughout the UK.

This is Pure People Power. Join us!

The World is What WE Make it

An America where no one is hungry

We all deserve to have enough food to eat without worrying about if we can afford it. At Feeding America, we are working to make this a reality by:

Ensuring everyone can get the food they need with respect and dignity.

We are part of a nationwide network of over 200 food banks and 60,000 meal programs so people can access food without judgment or stigma.

Advocating for policies that improve food security for everyone.

We work with lawmakers to make it easier for people to get food by expanding access to food assistance programs.

Partnering to address the root causes of food insecurity, like the high cost of living and lack of access to affordable housing.

There is more to ending hunger than just food, so we partner with organizations to address underlying causes of hunger so people can thrive.

Working with local food banks and meal programs

When you support Feeding America, you are helping a nationwide network of food banks, food pantries, and meal programs provide resources so people facing hunger can put food on the table. Learn more about the network.

Rescuing Food

Feeding America works with the food industry to rescue food that would otherwise go to waste.

Storing Food

Network food banks collect, store, and distribute food to local pantries and meal programs.

Distributing Food

The network's food pantries and meal programs distribute food to their communities.

Our Mission

How we end hunger

A model community garden Program that envisions a healthier Louisiana, and more importantly, a healthy World in which all children grow up with an awareness of and access to nutritious food, as well as a clean environment.. We invite schools and students to experience our community garden first-hand at the Food Bank through educational field trips. These trips offer students a unique opportunity to immerse themselves with hands-on gardening activities and lessons.

Our Mission - To alleviate hunger in Central Louisiana.

Volunteers

It is with the generous support of our individual and corporate donors that the Food Bank of Central Louisiana is able to serve more than 22,400 people every month in our community.

For every dollar donated, the Food Bank of Central Louisiana can provide five meals to families in need. Each year, the Feeding America network of food banks and food-rescue organizations distributes more than two billion pounds of food and grocery products to support feeding programs at approximately 50,000 local charitable agencies, including food pantries, soup kitchens, emergency shelters, after-school programs and Kids Cafes.

Every dollar, every can of food, is one more step towards ending hunger in our community. The Food Bank of Central Louisiana would like to offer a heartfelt thank you to all of those whose donations make our work possible every single day. Together, we can provide hope to the hungry people here in Central Louisiana.

Our Work is Far From Over

Since 1990, the Food Bank of Central Louisiana has been providing hunger relief to hungry residents in Central Louisiana.

Our energies and expertise, along with the support of the local food industry, private contributors, and countless volunteers, have helped us wage a significant battle against hunger.

But our work is far from over. We will continue to provide food to our communities until we have succeeded in our mission: To alleviate hunger in Central Louisiana.
