The Good Food Project, a cooperative farming project, was spearheaded in 2014, in partnership with the Trinidad Community Food Cooperative, The Trinidad Farmer’s Market, and Earth Mountain Education Farm.
Three acres of what had been a hay field was transformed into an organically grown polyculture, or mixed vegetable, crop. The crops being grown are increasing access to healthy local foods, offering sustainable agriculture economy and education, as well as building a connected community.

We are a community operated farm enthusiastically providing access to affordable, organic produce while passionately and actively educating and encouraging sustainable, modern agricultural practices and industry in the Southern Colorado region, simultaneously acting as an advocate for resource conservation.

Do you love having your hands in the soil? Have you ever had a carrot, fresh out of the ground? The experience and connections that blossom from involvement with our farm are priceless. But what’s more, we as an organization show our support by giving back to our volunteers in several ways.
For each hour given to tend and harvest on the farm, we give back a V-buck worth $3 off produce at the Trinidad Community Farmer’s Market throughout the season. These can be combined for up to $12 off produce harvested from the farm.

Summer Farm Internship Program
An 8 week program from June to August that offers experience in sustainable agriculture, marketing, leadership, and much more. Students ages 14-18 are eligible for the stipend based program where they will receive $50 weekly.

Community Supported Agriculture Shares (CSA’s)
The Good Food Project offers 16 weeks of fresh produce with their annual CSA program.Weekly distributions of in-season produce begins Mid-June and ends in Mid- October.
CSA’s work in the way that the community supports the farm by paying up front for the cost of their share. 2018 CSA membership cost is $288, that is only $18 a week.
To become a member, fill out our CSA Membership Form, and turn in at Comida Market on Main. Make checks payable to The Good Food Project. There are only 30 shares available each season, so reserve your local organic CSA today!
