Color Your World With Intention

It is fascinating that wavelengths are all around us,

yet there is a relatively thin slice that the human eye can actually see.  These are colors!

You may be drawn to specific colors ~ even have your favorites ~

but have you ever stopped to realize the significance of these hues in your everyday life?

Did you know that there is a reason why stop signs are red?

The color red demands attention and has been shown to raise blood pressure if we look at it long enough.

Post-it notes and legal pads are yellow because we remember things better when written on this color.

Being the predominant color in nature, green helps with concentration,

while blue is the easiest for our eyes to process.  Imagine gazing at a calm sea or a clear sky.

Marketing agents test and choose colors with great care when promoting their products.

Why not think more purposefully about the colors you wear, the paint you put on your bedroom walls,

and the items you carry with you each day.

You may find that this simple idea may end up affecting your moods.

Color your world with intention and choose what makes you the most comfortable.  (S. Finelli)
