Instagram has more than 50 safety mechanisms in place to protect children on their app.

8 tools were fully functional and worked as intended.
Instagram has a beta (unfinalized) version of community notes, which are user submitted fact checks and contextualization statements that are connected to a specific post.
On Instagram, the user must meet the requirements to be a 'contributor' to be able to submit a note or vote on other contributor notes.
Notes are viewable by all users once enough contributors have agreed that it's helpful.
Instagram has two school specific programs:
The School Partnership Program, where partnered schools receive prioritized reporting and digital safety resources.
Add your current school to your profile to see other verified students who attend your school, create and join school chats with only verified classmates, and see student exclusive stories from your school.
Parents can connect their account to their teen's. A supervised teen account allows parents to:
Set a screen time limit;
Set up "sleep mode" to either set a reminder to close the app or block it completely;
See average time spent on app per week and time spent on app each day;
See accounts the teen is following and blocking and who is following them;
See settings for privacy, message requests, and content;
See what general interest categories the teen adds.
