This is the capstone course for the engineering pathway. Whether you've come from the engineering, computer science, or biomedical science pathway into EDD, you each bring individual strengths that contribute a lot to this course. This will not feel like a regular class after the first month. I will not feel like your traditional "teacher" in this course and that's a great thing. My role in this course is to be the facilitator and project manager. I will work with each one of you to develop your strengths, weaknesses, and roles in your team.
After you pick your team (around late-September), you will be working with them until the end of May! We'll work closely to determine who your team is and what your project will be. It's not going to be as simple as choosing your closest friends. Sometimes, the ones who you get along with best are the ones that you don't want to work with. We'll work together to develop a timeline, schedule, and a project focus and I'm excited to see what problem each of you tackle in this course!
There are only four learning targets for the entire year! They will continually be spiraled, reassessed, and evaluated throughout the year. They are listed below:
LT1: Project Management
LT2: Design Process
LT3: Research & Documentation
LT4: Notebook/Digital Portfolio
