This is the final course in the biomedical science pathway! In this course, you will be diving into different units that draw from your content knowledge from Principles of Biomedical Science (PBS), Human Body Systems (HBS), and Medical Interventions (MI) and applying it to real-world scenarios. You will be exploring content and doing research like STEM professionals and will be engaging in a year-long capstone project on the side where you will work to create a biomedical innovation to address an issue that exists in the medical community.
This course will be interactive, hands-on, and will engage in a lot of research. You'll constantly hear me say, "Where are your sources?" or, "How can you defend that with scientific research?" The course is broken up into eight different Problem Units that apply content from your previous courses into this course.
The eight Problem Units that we will be covering are included below:
Problem 1: Design of an Effective Emergency Room
Problem 2: Exploring Human Physiology
Problem 3: Design of a Medical Innovation
Problem 4: Investing Environmental Health
Problem 5: Combating a Public Health Issue
Problem 6: Molecular Biology in Action
Problem 7: Forensic Autopsy
Problem 8: Independent Project
