REGISTRATION
REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED
The conference registration system opened on 23 April 2025.
Speaker registration: All speaker applications from our Call for Abstracts were notified by email mid-afternoon 14 April 2025. If you were accepted as a speaker for the event and cannot see your registration email, please check your junk email folder, and if not there, get in touch. Speakers will need to register before the end of of the early bird registration period on 15 June. Early registration is required by presenters in order to schedule and promote the event.
Delegate registration: This is open now and will remain open until around a week prior to the event. Early bird registration concludes 15 June 2025, after which a standard fee will apply until registration closes. Standard registration closes end of July, after which late registration continues at the same price but does not include the option for conference meal.
The early bird conference fee this year will be the same as 2023 and 2024: £150. Standard Registration (which begins on 16 June) will be £170.
To attend BSP events, speakers and delegates need to be members of the British Society for Phenomenology. If you are not already a member, membership (full and discounted, £40 and £20 respectively) will be added to the conference fee. When you become a member, you receive access to the Journal of the British Society for Phenomenology online for one year. JBSP Online publishes around 25 new research articles a year, and membership includes access to 50+ years of the JBSP. You can become a member at any time, for more information please visit our membership page.
The registration fee includes refreshments throughout the conference, as well as Wi-Fi access.
The registration does not include accommodation and travel, nor the conference meal.
The conference meal - on the evening of day 2 - costs an additional £45 and can be paid for during registration. For more details see our Evenings webpage - and in time, more information on the night will appear there too.
As with all academic events, fees should generally be agreed and paid for by the participant's place of study or employment as part of their professional development. However, we understand under exceptional cases this is not always possible. Accordingly, applications for bursaries will be available for those needing financial assistance and are only open to accepted speakers. There are no delegate (non-speaker) bursaries. There will be attendance bursaries waiving the attendance fee, childcare bursaries, and the BSP President's discretionary bursary (a significant bursary for people with disabilities or significant financial issues of any kind). Bursary funds are limited, and if there are more eligible applicants than we can fund, the decision will be made on the strength of the application. These can be applied for during the registration period. Details are below...
Applications for bursaries are available for those needing financial assistance and are only open to speakers. There are no delegate (non-speaker) bursaries.
Applications must be sent to the BSP Events team by 10th May 2025, and you should hear back by the 17th May 2025. See details on requesting an application form below.
General bursaries
> Attendance bursaries: open to student / early career researcher / emeritus / independent / unwaged / low income speakers. The bursary will waive the attendance fee. The bursary does not include BSP membership fees.
> Child care bursaries: open to all speakers. This is intended for speakers with specific child needs in order to present their paper and attend other sessions.
Attendance and child care assistance are not mutually exclusive; both are however limited, and if there are more eligible applicants than we can fund, the decision will be made on the strength of the application.
Special bursary
> BSP President's discretionary bursary: under exceptional circumstances, a significant bursary may be offered upon application for people with disabilities or financial issues. In the latter case, funds should typically be used to cover travel, accommodation, and the conference – all requested costs should be explained in the application.
Further information
> Bursary funds are limited, and if there are more eligible applicants than we can fund, the decision will be made on the strength of the application.

> Applications must be submitted at the latest 10th May 2025. All submissions will be responded to prior to the end of the registration period. For more information and to request application forms please contact the conference team: events@thebsp.org.uk
