After living and working in the city, my husband and I decided that we wanted to raise our family in Orland Park. We knew the schools were great and the library was the best in the area. I decided to run for the Library Board in 2019 because I have a passion for libraries and all they provide to their communities. I wanted to make sure that my kids and all the kids of Orland Park, had access to a great library like I did growing up. In fact, my very first volunteer position and later my first job was at the Orland Park Library Children's department on Park Lane.
I believe my experience gives me a unique perspective on the library and the work of the Board. In addition to my 20+ years in Association Management, I have also served as the Treasurer and President of a 400 unit condo building in the city, President of the Young Irish Fellowship Club of Chicago, youth volleyball and baseball coach, and I serve on multiple PFEs in District 135. I have developed strong fiscal management, problem-solving and communication skills from the variety of jobs and volunteer positions I have held. I excel in problem solving, attention to detail, organization and planning. I am a steadfast advocate for our library and our library staff who do the most amazing things for our community.
I currently serve as the Chair of the Capital Fund Campaign Committee and as a member of the Building and Maintenance Committee and the Service and Policy Committee. I would like the opportunity to continue to support the community and our library.

Story Walk with Santa.
When my children were very small, the Library was my first destination. Story Time with Miss Stephanie, the play area, the puzzles, the legos, the books. It was the perfect place to go to get out of the house, let the kids burn some energy and meet some new friends.
Now that the kids are in school, I miss story time, but we get to attend video game club, make crafts, enjoy OPPL-con, celebrate Christmas with the Grinch and go to the Jewelry Jumble!

When I'm not at the library, I can be found volunteering. I currently serve as the President of both Prairie and Liberty's PFEs and District PFE Secretary for District 135 and I help coach both boys' OYA baseball teams .
My absolute favorite things to volunteer for at Prairie and Liberty are Mystery Reader and the Book Fair at the schools.
