Library Rules
- Students MUST have a pass, a note, and a purpose to be in the library.
- Sign-in and out.
- Students are expected to be respectful of themselves, others, and the space [i.e. work quietly].
- Handle all library materials with care.
- Never cut, tear, or write on any library materials.
- Leave the library in the same condition as it was when you entered.
- Push in your chair when you leave a table.
- Put all materials away when you finish with them.
- Special permission may be needed for students to work together.
- NO FOOD, DRINK, GUM, or CANDY in the library.
Using the library is a privilege which may be revoked anytime a student behaves irresponsibly or disrespectfully.
If you are asked to leave the library being for disruptive or disrespectful
- your first offense will mean no library privileges for 1 week.
- your second offense will mean no library privileges for 2 weeks.
- your third offense will will mean no library privileges for the remainder of the semester.
Circulation Policies
- Students may check out 3 items at a time.
- Items are checked out for a period of 2weeks(14 Days).
- Return or renew books on time!
- Please do not return unwanted books to the shelves. Place them in the book return area.
- Items may be renewed when they are brought into the library.
- If there is a hold placed on an item, it may only be renewed one time.
- Reference books, such as encyclopedias and dictionaries, Magazines are to be used only in the library.(Available for overnight issue)
Overdue Materials
- Please return overdue books as soon as possible so others can check them out.
- Students with an overdue book may not check out additional materials until the overdue book is returned.
- There is a fine of Rs 1[One Rupee] per day for late items.
- All students are responsible for any books checked out in their names.
- Overdue notices will be distributed every week through the Class Teachers.
- Items overdue by three months are considered lost and require immediate payment for replacement.
Lost Materials
- Lost materials are charged the cost of replacing the item or lost books can be replaced by the student with the same title, or a similar title with the permission of the librarian.
- In some cases, students may "work off" the cost of replacing a lost book.
- Returning 6th and 7th graders will not be allowed to borrow materials until fines are paid and lost books replaced.
- 10th & 12th graders will not receive report cards until fines are paid and lost books replaced.
- Minor repairs will be performed as needed, however, patrons who have damaged items beyond repair will be expected to pay the replacement costs of the item.
