Library Matters, India is an initiative of Liferarian Association. A group of school librarians from national and international schools collaborating on pedagogy, skills & strategies to build contemporary education practices through library programs. They endeavor to develop skills, knowledge and services to evolve from librarians into Library Media Specialists.
Together, they will support fellow librarians to build a library program to foster reading, learning, and meta-literacy skills, including information & media literacy and digital citizenship that will meet individual school requirements.
The Golden Shower Tree is the logo for Library Matters, India. The Golden Shower tree is also called Cassia Fistula and is the state tree of Kerala. This ornamental tree proliferates during the season of flowers, creating a shower of golden flowers. They are called KaniKonna in Kerala. Like the Golden Shower Trees, Library Matters, India purges old pedagogical practices while bringing blossoms to rejuvenate the teacher librarian's role with modern-day practices and beliefs.
