Varism, simply put, is a system in which a voluntary, global, and central government, corporation, church, and/or other form of group (the Supercommunity) consensually overlooks Communities based on the variable choices of groups, individuals, and other ways to class a size or singular amount of agents, usually manifesting around an ideology of politics, system of economics, philosophy, religion and/or a combination of the previous (ie a Leninist state, Anarcho-Capitalism, etc.); combinations of established ideologies and economic systems are allowed, as well as the creation of new ideologies/systems, and/or a random combination of random-or-thoughtfully chosen political policies. The Supercommunity's role is to handle Community related issues. The theory is set as a default to a general Right-Libertarian small government, as the theory is Right-Libertarian in origin; however, other forms of Varism are allowed if they use other adjectives (ie Christian Varism, Communist Varism, etc.) and as such, can be located anywhere on a chart that ranks ideologies as conservative-to-liberal/left-to-right.
On Government: In the theory’s original Right-Libertarian position, the government should be small, voluntary, and limited, only working for police officers and court systems used against bad states. It shall be headed only by a constitution, and a leader (Sovereign) shall be used to support the objective will of the constitution, along with a panel of five (5) judges; they shall be replaced,if necessary, by orphans raised in the Varist philosophy their whole lives, or by their own children. The Judges and Sovereign will be replaced when they can no longer perform their inherited duty, such as if they are permanently impaired mentally or arrested. The Constitution will be objective and immutable. The government will ban only non consensual rape, murder, assault, and theft; everything allowed being a negative right and/or positive freedom. Rape being sexual experiences without consent, murder being killing without consent, assault being an attack without consent, and theft being property acquirement without consent. Taxation and law will be voluntary; however, the NAP (Non Aggression Pact) will be mandatory. Killing someone protected by government will result in government punishment.
The government shall protect the negative rights and positive freedoms of each citizen under its employment. Agents will have negative rights and positive freedoms to all objects and actions that they can obtain without violating the negative rights and/or positive freedoms of others.
The government will protect agents who ask for protection without forcing them to follow its laws after the aid is given.
Government is too treat all moral agents as equal, with the exception of criminals.
On Law: In the theory’s Right Libertarian position, the law shall be based to prevent agents from involuntary harm (ie theft, rape, slavery, fraud. Assault, legitimate threats and murder) and/or planning of causing such involuntary harm. In the Supercommunity, murder, rape, and attempts of the last two will be met with the death penalty, with theft/fraud having a maximum of forty (40) years. However, the law may be ignored if a person makes a contract that allows areas or individuals of the areas to bypass laws, if the "crimes" are committed in their specific Community. Exceptions to this clause are children, animals, the unmedicated mentally ill, and objects, as they are property of their owners under the Non Aggression Pact. Agents who suffer crimes may choose not to punish the criminal; however, the previous statement (Forgiveness Clause) should not be interpreted to prevent a victim from trying to punish a criminal, except if the crime is allowed and committed in that one area/Community.
To reiterate, contracts imposed can be so agents can ignore various laws in certain areas, but a person must sign the contract for it to apply.
An example of these contracts would be, at its simplest, a piece of paper saying they are willing to experience a crime and let the criminal go free if they join the Community. Other clauses can be included. Contracts can look like anything and say any sentence and still be applicable, but must be approved by the State, or the central area (towns, households, etc.) if it's a case revolving the area itself (laws, obligations of the area, and contracts to enter the area).
Agents who aren’t a part of the Community experience crime that is legal in said Community may choose to punish the perpetrator, as they did not join the community, and thus did not consent to the crime.
The law shall be enforced by agents who volunteer to uphold the law, or people who violated law. As with other things, the law is a negative right/positive liberty, so agents shouldn’t be forced to provide it.
If an interaction can’t be ascertained as one of the prohibited actions listed above, it shall be settled in a lawsuit. If it is a crime, the act shall be criminalized, with review every fifty (50) years.
On July 4th, annually, all laws and bans in all Communities (including the Supercommunity), in addition to the NAP, will be void for ten (10) seconds. Planning to commit a crime in these ten seconds is legal.
The law is to work in unison with the Non Aggression Pact.
On the Non Aggression Pact: The Non Aggression Pact will be held firm, while the law is optional. The Non Aggression Pact is a concept in which agents do not harm others in the form of intentional violations of bodily autonomy and negative rights/positive freedoms, particularly property rights, unless they want the NAP violated against them; planning on committing such violations is also a violation. However, States or areas within states, with the permission of their respective states, may decree some violations as legitimate. If someone violates the NAP, the person violated may forgive them as with the law; also in accordance with the law, the Forgiveness Clause (a clause in law and NAP that allows forgiveness of violations) shall not be used to deny the victim rights to confront their aggressor, unless the state/area they reside in says the violation wasn’t wrong. If the area/state says a violation is wrong, yet one violates the NAP against you, you may return the violation by violating the NAP against the previous violator. You may not, however, violate against a non-violator. If you see the NAP being violated against another person, you may violate the NAP against the violator, provided that the victim didn’t plead the Forgiveness Clause. The NAP only protects agents (innocent people of mature age (18+ years)).
On Communities: Communities are communities that are founded on a set of ideals, usually in the form of political ideologies, religions, and economic systems; an alternate, equally valid definition can be found on top of this work in the first sentance(s). They are called states as I made up the name and wanted to be different. States that are founded upon a religious belief and/or other belief shall be called Pseudocommunities. The government that controls Communities will be formally referred to as a Supercommunity. Communities will be formed when a group of agents voluntarily group together and voluntarily acquire at least 50 ft of land and applying for Coummunityhood; Communites don’t have to be confined to a single area, and do not need to be in held close together nor far apart. Any State that doesn't meet the standard is a Pseudocommunity. States will be able to be independent of law and NAP with their citizens, if they signed the contract allowing the law to be ignored. Pseudocoummunities will lack this option, and will have to rely on the Forgiveness Clause.
The Supercommunity will be supported through voluntary taxes, and be in a one story building, moderately kept clean.
If a Community or Community-in-the-making is getting too troublesome, with non consensual violations of the NAP, trying to attack other Communities, etc., it shall be forcefully dissolved; States equal or similar to in ideology, however, will be ignored, unless they supported the Community’s actions meaningfully (ie. financial support, military aid, anything besides mere opinions). es may also be called upon to fight the insubordinate Communities, with or without the Supercoumminities supporting the party involved who is correct in Varist theory.
Agents who formed one Community may form other Communities, provided they do so correctly. States are not required to be specific, but specificness will be recommended in pamphlets. Pamphlets will be handed to those who apply for Communityhood. Community founders may change the laws of their community if they follow the rules and didn’t get into contracts saying otherwise.
If two or more Communities get into an argument, the Supercommunity shall work as a moderator to prevent, or at least minimize, any aggressive actions the Communities will take against each other. Any Community that reserves the right to voluntary war may go to war, provided that the other Community(ies) consent(s) to the war, and, if at least one of the Communities involve(s) democracy, enough of the citizens of legal age involved voted yes to the war.
If someone is banned from a Community but left property, that property continues to legally belong to that person, unless the contract states that the property will be taken for any reason. The person can send someone into the Community to get the property, unless that is also prohibited in the contract. The person may also sue the Community for property violations, unless the contract says otherwise.
Communities may choose to be able to provide for Supercommunities.
When a Community is similar to an already existing Community, the Supercommunity is to encourage (but not enforce) them to cooperate.
On Consent: In the theory’s Right Libertarian position, consent would function as agreeing to a proposal, without the proposer using force to obtain consent; persuasion (sales tactics, Pick up artistry, etc.) may be used, so long as it is not fraudulent. However, if the receiver of the proposal has to do it to prevent something bad from occuring, the proposer could count it as consent, provided that the proposer isn't violating the rights of the receiver; ie Person A hasn't hired or joined a hitman to force or threaten Person B to give cake to Person A.
On Property: Property is a non-conscious, tangible object that a Conscious being or group (defined in this scenario as two (2) or more Conscious beings) of Conscious beings can privately claim without taking from others. Claims include taking items that weren’t owned by others, buying things, and/or asking for things without coercion. Private property is a negative right. Private property can be owned by many agents for the populous. Conscious beings and/or groups can hold unlimited amounts of Property until they lose Consciousness; if they reclaim consciousness, they can reclaim their property, as long as it doesn’t violate Private Property Law and/or Community Law. A Conscious being can do what they want with their property, so long as it doesn’t affect the property of other Rational beings. The body and body parts of a Rational being inherently belong to said Rational being.
On Rights: Rights will be based on inaction of others and the action of oneself (negative rights); to simplify, healthcare as a negative right would mean no one is allowed to prevent you from getting healthcare from a consenting party. Agents will have such rights to all things besides harming others without consent. Rights can be violated if the person holding the rights relinquishes them. Rights cannot be violated without consent.
Positive “rights” are seen by Varists as a violation of rights, as they require a violation of consent.
On Economics: Economics shall follow the Varist School of Economics, which resembles the Austrian School, but is focused on the varied choice of others. The default economics of this philosophy will be free market (Laissez Faire) capitalism of the mentioned Austrian School. The government shall not influence laws or the economy towards socialism nor corporatism; the economy shall be under no influence from the government, just the market, the market being defined as the producers and the consumers of goods and services. The means of production shall be a negative right, as it will be available to all those who obtain them without infringing on another person’s means of production/negative rights. Communities can have their own economics. The values of goods and services shall be subjective to the producers. Money shall be made by private organizations/individuals. Banks shall be privately owned, and run like any other corporation.
On Agency: Agency, in the Varist sense, is the only way to have Negative rights and protection in the Non Aggression Pact. Agency means, in the Varist sense, having the sentience of a person aged eighteen (18)-year-olds or above who follows Varism. Any entity that does not have consciousness are to be regarded as property and subject to full will of their owners, unless Community law says otherwise. These entities are: animals, simple Artificial Intelligences, children, agents with severe mental illness, unconscious people, and objects (water, air, toys, etc.). Entities, specifically people, who have agency should be properly referred to as Agents.
If a Agent being loses consciousness, they are not Agents. They become Agents once they regain consciousness.
Any changes to Varism and Varist theory are allowed to be considered a form of Varism/Varist school of thought (similar to the concept of Anarchist schools of thought) as long as it: A. Recognizes Communities as based on the (preferably negative) right of people, moral agents, and/or other sentient creatures to form Communities, and B. Places an adjective around the word “Varism” that describes the change (ie Leninist-Varism, Anarcho-Varism, etc.).
The theory is right wing libertarian in origin; as such, the theory in its original form could also be referred to as Right Libertarian Varism, to make a clear reference to the theory’s origins, and to prevent confusion between the forms of Varism. However, since the theory is similar to Panarchism, the theory must be referred to as Right Panarchism, Varist Panarchism, Nielsenion Panarchism, or Pseudo-Panarchism at least once during introduction of the ideology, and give the honest reason for these monikers.
People, ideas, media, etc. that follow Varism shall be called Varists, and Varistic will be used to describe people, ideas, media, etc. that have ideas similar, if not the same to Varism, with an exception to Panarchists/Panarchism, as this idea may have been theirs first.
Varists are to try to talk to existing governments in order to start Varist societies. Violence, if needed, will be a last resort. Varists are to take a democratic vote of the citizens in the area they claim from governments, as to be fair for the most part. This process will be called Peaceful Claiming.
The Non Aggression Pact is not to be referred to as the NAP unless with other Varists, as to avoid confusion with the similar and earlier invented Non Aggression Principle of Anarcho-Capitalism.
One doesn’t have to follow the preceding rules to be a Varist, but the rules are recommended in order to keep the philosophy an appearingly calm choice.
Varism comes from a simple question: Is freedom possible, logically? The answer is, if you think long and hard about it, no; at least, not at its full potential. No matter how many LGBT rights people fight for, no matter how many economic regulations you repeal, there will always be something that imposes on freedom, be it the market, social justice, anything really. So, if we are to lack freedom, can’t we, at the very least, choose what freedoms we will lack? The theory of Varism is, in essence, a theory designed to preserve the chosen slaveries of all, including the slavery of freedom.
You may ask, why focus on negative rights and positive freedoms? Why not focus on their opposites? SImply put, they focus on what many would consider freedom, the freedom to do what you please without hurting others, while their opposites require some force.to accomplish. Also, negative rights and positive freedoms require the least amount of action from a central force, and governments in check will always lead to freedom.
The Non Aggression Pact and the law allow for the Forgiveness Clause as it is the negative right of the individual to forgive crimes against themselves.
You may ask, Why not Panarchism? Simple really. Panarchism is based upon anarchism, giving it a left wing edge. Varism is based in Right-wing libertarianism. Also, Panarchism only allows governments, while Varism allows governments, Anarchist societies, church leadership, etc.
