Statement on War

Generally, we are a people of peace. We do not condone fighting. Our only reason to go to war is to protect our citizens and defend our country. We believe that all people are children of God. We look to the example of Captain Moroni, the great Nephite military commander. Although he was a mighty warrior, he “did not delight in bloodshed.” He was “firm in the faith of Christ,” and his only reason for fighting was to “defend his people, his rights, his country, and his religion.”
