Parents
At the high school level, parents become involved in different ways. Many choose to becoming involved in a Booster group which serves the extra-curricular activity in which their student is involved. Many join the PTSO. Many volunteer for field trips, the homecoming dance shoe/phone check room, or are supportive fans at athletic competitions. Many help run the famous LHS "SNACK SHACK" for home games. Class faculty advisors and student class officers always need parents to help with donations, supporting all fundraisers, turning in class dues, and occasionally volunteering to help build a float, drive a truck, or buy some candy. We hope that all parents will be involved with parent/teacher conference nights, course request conference nights, parent meetings for class and school activities, and parent nights to learn about educational options and pathways. All students also benefit from involved parents at home! Make sure you have access to "HAC" - the Home Access Center to check student attendance, grades, and completed academic work. Check your daily emails with announcements! Email with teachers, counselors, and administrators regularly so we can help you. Follow us on Twitter, of the LHS parent Facebook page. (These are not "official" communications, but many parents use them to ask questions of other experienced high school parents.) Check the LHS homepage for information and updates. Parents are always needed to help make LHS great!
