Applied Engineering Design
(STEM Class) - This is an applied course for students interested in further developing their skills as future engineers. This course covers microcontrollers, fluid power, small electronics, manufacturing processes, and robotics. Additionally, multiple guest speakers will discuss current topics in the Technology and Engineering fields. Upon completion of this course, proficient students are able to explain the differences between scientists and engineers, understand the importance of ethical practices in engineering and technology, follow the steps in the engineering design process to complete multiple team projects, and effectively communicate design solutions to others. May be taken twice for credit.

What is the student fee? The student fee is used to cover consumable materials and maintain key pieces of equipment for your learning.
Do we have tests? Yes. We will have vocabulary tests.
What pices of equipmen will we have access to? This depends on your past experience with the program. This pogram is primarily for someone who took MYP Design Technology or another tech class. If this is your first time we will support your jouney, but it will take longer for your to obtain the techical knowledge?
What are we going to do? You will be placed into diverse teams that build on individual strengths. Then you will apply your time, talents and stregths to solve real problems for real clients using the engineering design process and available tools and technologies.
What skills will I obtain by taking this class? Creativity, Commmuication, Crticial Thinking and Collaboration.
