When a new detective joins CID, they must go into the Junior DC programme in order to receive training in order to become a fully qualified detective. All new detectives are given a trainer and a fully compiled training programme to ensure that you can perform your duties as a detective to the best of your ability.

This unit deals with all crime on the island excluding gang crime. This unit deals with reports of crime from members of the public, intelligence gathering and actioning on non gang related intelligence. This is where the majority of CID officers are placed.
This unit deals with organised crime groups primarily. If you join this unit you will be assigned an OCG in which you will investigate and build evidence on in order to make a successful prosecution or search warrant on the gangs.
These detectives have specilised in this area after showing they are very competetent in investigations.
This unit will operate as a specialised unit in the method of investigating known criminals with warrants and to combat fugitives on the run from the police. They will use various tactics to assist them with arrests and operational use.
Special Branch is the highest department within CID and only contains L3 detectives. These detectives are the ones that have proved that they are efficient and critical with their work and always provide a good standard.
Special Branch consists of senior detectives who's role is to oversee investigations as an SIO and assist other detectives with their investigations. Special branch also deals with the operational planning for CID operations. They will create a plan and liaise with other units in order to execute the plan successfully.
