In 2024, the LGO Alumni Board organized the pilot module of the Alumni Leadership Program. Since this effort is 100% led by alumni volunteers, they tested a modular structure for the program to create consistency, accelerate development time, and drive repeatability. Each module consists of three components:
For the pilot program, 20 participants and 4 alumni coaches joined the first session on performance management strategies for new managers, "My employee is not meeting expectations - now what?" led by Kristin Toth (LGO '03). Kristin has decades of leadership and entrepreneurship experience through founding, building, and growing companies such as Zulily, Fernish, and Amazon. Most recently, she founded Ulu Partners: a coaching and consulting firm driving real impact through building the people who are building things.
Following the session, participants had 3-4 weeks to apply what they learned in the workplace before meeting with their coach in small groups to discuss and reflect. The success of the pilot led the Alumni Board to continue with the program and expand it to a multi-session format in 2025.
