Stage 1:
Exploration
Assess school goals and needs while identifying gaps in existing early college credit opportunities for academic and occupational courses. Explore innovative approaches to expand access and establish baseline data sources.
Audience: Executive leadership and key stakeholders to evaluate needs, risks, and contextual factors.
Stage 2:
Installation
Designate key personnel for implementation, develop data collection methods and protocols, and ensure access to timely training. Provide ongoing opportunities for stakeholders to learn and apply innovative early college strategies.
Stage 3:
Initial Implementation
Launch a dedicated implementation team to execute new or refined early college strategies. Provide just-in-time support, schedule regular check-ins for guidance and adjustments, and collect data to assess the impact of the innovation.
Stage 4:
Full Implementation
Early adopters take on leadership roles as at least 50% of stakeholders integrate early college innovations. Continuously review project data, assess progress, and make necessary adjustments to ensure sustained student access to earned credit, even amid institutional changes.
The implementation stages were developed by the Active Implementation Research Network. These stages are not linear. Consultation services are intended to meet clients wherever they are in the stages of implementation with the goal to develop a strategy to (1) increase early college student access to academic course credit that applies to college certificates and/or degrees, and (2) increase early college student access to occupational course credit that applies to college certificates and/or degrees.
Our workshops and trainings are designed to support the implementation of a robust early college program, focusing on building strong partnerships between high schools and regional community colleges. These trainings are customizable to address the specific interests and needs of each client, ensuring a tailored approach that aligns with your institution's goals.
