🔹 What is Let Freedom Ring 250?
A statewide initiative helping families celebrate America’s 250th birthday through fun, meaningful activities
Focused on strengthening families, building connection, and supporting prevention
Includes 50+ simple “adventures” families can do together
🔹 How did it start?
This initiative was actually born at a prevention conference
The idea was: How do we take the energy and excitement of America’s 250th birthday and turn it into something meaningful for families?
The goal became helping parents develop a habit of using core prevention strategies in everyday life
And even bigger—embedding prevention into communities and lifestyle, not just programs
🔹 Why focus on families?
Families are the #1 protective factor for youth
Simple things—talking, spending time together, doing activities—make a huge difference
Prevention doesn’t have to be complicated—it can happen in everyday moments
🔹 What do families actually do?
Activities like acts of service, learning about history, trying new things, having conversations
Things families are already doing—but now with more intention
The goal is to make prevention fun, easy, and natural
🔹 How does this help communities?
Brings families together around a shared purpose
Helps coalitions connect with more families
Builds stronger, more connected communities
Encourages people to get involved locally
🔹 What makes this different?
It’s not a one-time event—it’s a movement
It’s family-driven, not program-driven
It turns prevention into something people want to do
🔹 Who can participate?
Anyone! Families, schools, communities
It’s free and accessible statewide
Communities can even create their own local version
🔹 Why now?
America’s 250th birthday is a once-in-a-generation opportunity
We can use this moment to not just celebrate—but strengthen families for the future

🔹 What are “Personalized Community Hubs”?
Communities can create their own custom Let Freedom Ring 250 hub
This allows them to highlight local events, activities, and priorities alongside the statewide initiative
It becomes a one-stop place for families to find ways to get involved
🔹 Why are these hubs so valuable?
Helps communities connect directly with families in a simple, engaging way
Makes it easy to promote local events and prevention efforts
Strengthens partnerships by bringing schools, cities, and organizations together
Creates a sense of local ownership while still being part of a statewide movement
🔹 What are we seeing so far?
We already have 8 communities actively using personalized hubs
And more are coming online before July 4th
Communities are using them to increase participation, visibility, and connection
🔹 Big Picture
The hubs turn this from a statewide campaign into a local community experience
It’s where families connect with what’s happening right where they live
Â
🔹 Call to Action
Get involved, explore the adventures, and start with just one
Invite another family to join
Be part of something bigger happening across the state
