The best way to undertand how the Let Freedom Ring 250 initiative and App works is to try it!

Step 2: Search for code 'Freedom250' or Title 'Let Freedom Ring 250'

Step 3: Register your team. Each family/team chooses their own name, so the level of anonymity is left complete in the participants' hands!

This gives you an opportunity to look over the 50+ Adventures available to families and see how they encourage family conversations and engagement, community connection, and promote the America 250 theme.

Be sure to notice these important components of each Adventure:

Get Talking! Each Adventure begins with a family conversation to incorporate learning, brainstorming, decision-making, and planning .
The Adventure! The Adventure itself provides an opportunity for families to engage with each other, leading to strong family bonds. Freedom 250 Adventures also focus heavily on developing community connections, a key protective factor for our youth.
TIPS! Teaching Important Parenting Strategies. The Freedom 250 Adventures are very 'TIPS' heavy, providing plenty of suggestions and reminders to parents about how to use the activity to help kids build resilience and develop other important character development.
💯 Get Points! For each Adventure a family completes they receive POINTS . . . and Points become Prizes! Discovery Hunts gamify prevention by delivering information and 'the adventure' straight to a parents' phone, the family then completes the adventure off the phone-- out in the community and in the home, and then comes back to the phone to report completion and get points. We will provide prizes for the national hub. Local communities are welcome to engage local businesses in donating additional prizes.

Prevention Strategies

Let Freedom Ring 250 Adventures incorporate a variety of prevention strategies, including:

Social Development Strategy Each Adventure is the social development strategy in action:
- - Give kids an opportunity to learn new skills
  - Provide positive recognition
  - Bonds will strengthen with family and community
Parents Empowered We have incorporated the Chit Chat cards and other character building conversation starters into a supplementary, daily conversation starter, Discovery Hunt.
I Believe In You A proven strategy used by Orono School District
Character Counts Each Adventure incorporates T.E.A.M. to teach character

• Teach: Teach your child about being responsible using the discussion starters and tools below.

• Encourage: Praise your child when he or she demonstrates responsibility and offer fair consequences when he or she displays irresponsible behavior.

• Advocate: Provide opportunities for your child to practice responsibility and discuss why it matters to him/ her, you, your family, and community.

• Model: Be a good role model and demonstrate responsibility in all areas of your life.

Personalized Hub: $250

Personalized Hubs for States, Counties, Communities, Coalitions or Organizations. In addition to all of the Adventures included in the National Hub:

Incorporate Adventures to feature your local America250 events. You have complete control of your hub.
Keep all of the submissions local. All submissions come from families in your area.
Use as a communication tool to notify local families about ALL of your upcoming America 250 events!
GREAT STATS! You can see in the back-end exactly how many families in your community participate in the Adventures and events you plan and sponsor.

Add'l Community Hubs: $50

With your own personalized hub, you also have the ability to create additional hubs for your America250 initiatives as needed. Examples:

An America250 Passport encouraging locals & tourists to visit local landmarks & historical sites. This is an amazing tool that automatically & easily tracks participation and completion, and gives YOU the ability to witness all of the FUN first-hand!
Specialized hubs for your school programs & learning.
Community scavenger hunts to feature local resources and include local business and community organizations.

How Can We Get Involved?

Option 1: Include 'Let Freedom Ring 250' as part of your America250 celebration by including it on your website and social media sites.

We will provide you with graphics, flyers and other promotional materials
There is no added work for your committee other than promoting the hub to local families. We do request you provide a contact to work with.
There is no cost to families. They simply download the app, enter the code, and enjoy the Adventures. Families nationwide will qualify for national level prizes.
