Complete the LESSS 2026 Proposal Submission form by Feb 27, 2026.
Proposals for all session types will require an abstract (maximum 500 words), one to three learning objectives, and a statement (maximum 250 words) on how the session connects to the 2026 symposium theme.
Individual presentations offer speakers the opportunity to delve into a specific topic or research area. Presenters will be given either 15 or 30 minutes to showcase their work, share insights, and engage the audience through slides, demonstrations, or other learning aids. These sessions are ideal for in-depth exploration of a subject, allowing presenters to provide comprehensive analysis, data, and conclusions. Presentations will occur in block sessions with other selected presentations.
Presentation proposal requirements include:
Title
Abstract
Length
Presenter(s) names and affiliation(s)
1-3 learning outcomes
Connection with LESSS 2026 theme
Panel discussions bring together multiple experts, novices, or stakeholders from more than one institution (cross-departmental panels may be considered when clearly representing diverse perspectives or innovative collaborations) to explore a particular theme or issue from diverse perspectives. These sessions are expected to last 50 minutes and feature a moderator who guides the conversation and facilitates audience interaction. Panelists may offer brief presentations or remarks before engaging in dialogue with one another, but this is not required. Panel sessions should foster dynamic exchanges of ideas, debate, and/or collective problem-solving.

Roundtable discussions offer the community a chance for sharing, deliberation, and connection. Over 45 minutes, a host will present the topic for discussion, provide prompting questions, and facilitate active engagement by attendees in a discussion. These sessions allow for a dynamic opportunity to address a wide range of topics and issues by pulling from collective knowledge and experience.
Lightning talk proposal requirements include:

Facilitation host(s) name(s) and affiliation(s)
1-3 learning objectives (these can be broad goals for the conversation)
Connection with LESSS 2026 theme
Lightning talks are fast-paced, concise presentations lasting for just 5 minutes each. Speakers deliver condensed versions of their research, projects, or ideas, focusing on key points and insights. These sessions are designed to maximize efficiency and audience engagement, allowing for the rapid dissemination of information and diverse perspectives within a short timeframe. Lightning talks will be prerecorded for LESSS 2026, but presenters will be available for live Q&A during LESSS 2026.
