Together, we will explore how libraries can cultivate enduring, adaptable services that meet the evolving needs of researchers. Libraries are increasingly called upon to support evidence synthesis across a growing range of disciplines. Building Sustainable, Innovative Evidence Synthesis Services invites us to reflect on how we develop and strengthen our services and knowledge to address these growing needs from both researchers and our librarian community. This theme centers on capacity-building through: training and upskilling, thoughtful boundary-setting, sustainable workflows, and service models. By embracing intentional growth and community-driven collaboration, LESSS 2026 provides space to envision evidence synthesis support that is resilient, equitable, and future-focused.
We invite proposals that align with this theme and encompass a range of topics related to evidence synthesis services, including but not limited to:
Building capacity for new and established ES programs
Sustainable ES workflows in fast-paced research environments
Leveraging AI and emerging technologies intentionally and responsibly
Training, upskilling, and expanding librarian competencies
Defining scope and designing clear service models
Navigating funding, staffing, and feasibility
