Annotated Bibliography Criteria
All sources should be fully and properly cited and then annotated in an Annotated Bibliography.
Annotated Bibliography-
MLA formatted:
Times New Roman
12 point font
Double space
1 inch margins
ALL CITATIONS IN MLA 9
Alphabetized (by first word in each citation)
An annotated bibliography is a list of sources with a description and/or analysis of each source
Annotated bibliographies can be very detailed (multiple paragraphs for each source) or more general (brief description and/or analysis of the article)
Common structure of an annotated bibliography:
TWO PARAGRAPHS for each annotation:
Paragraph 1:SUMMARY of the article (discussion of why source is credible)
Paragraph 2: Your ASSESSMENT of how the article is relevant to your assignment (what is the key takeaway from the source)

if creating a new account, click on REGISTER (school username: lenapemediacenter & school password: noodletools1)
Click +New project
Check off “MLA” and “Advanced”
Create citations by selecting "+new source" or exporting a citation from the databases
Create citations for all your sources (for tips on citing all sources, look at the Lenape HS Research Guide
When you click on "New Source", you can select the appropriate type of citation
Database article (Many databases also allow you to export the citation to your noodletools list)

To add citations from sources in our databases & eBooks (which already give you the full citation) you can select the option for: Quick cite: Copy & paste a citation
To add an Annotation to a source:
When you create a source citation, you can write your annotation for the source in the text box.
If you need to add an annotation to a source you already have in your list, click on:
Options (three dots on the right of the source)
Edit
Add your annotation in the text box
When finished, click on PRINT/EXPORT TO GOOGLE DOCS to export your sources and create a MLA Works Cited page
You will need to add in the running header (the exported document includes page numbers in the header but you need to add your last name)
You will also need to add in the heading with your name, Instructor name, Course title, and date (in proper MLA date format)
