1v1 Challenge

Man Vs. Man

1. Each student/pair will design and build a robot for the jousting arena. We will use two FLL mats taped together. Each robot will face each other at both sides of the mat for head to head action.

2. A balloon will be placed on the robot but must be under 12 inches from the ground. The robot that pops the other balloon will be declared the winner. If neither side pops the balloon it will be declared a draw. Coaches will approve the placement of the balloon.

3. Each battle or round will last 90 seconds. The first robot to pop the balloon of their opponent wins that battle. If not all balloons are not popped after 90 seconds then we move to sudden death. After one minute of sudden death with no conclusion the battle ends in a tie and coin toss will determine the winner.

4. After a battle teams will have a minimum of five minutes to make preparations for next round.

5. If a robot falls over or gets stuck for at least 10 seconds, then the judge will move both robots back to the starting blocks.

Team Battle Challenge

1. Two or three teams will join forces depending on the size of the camp. They will together to form an alliance to defeat the other side.

If not all balloons are not popped after 90 seconds then the side with most balloons popped wins. In the event of a draw, then we move to sudden death.

Battle Royale Challenge

1. Every robot for themselves will enter the final arena.

2. Last robot standing wins.

3. Once your robot has their balloon popped a coach will remove the robot from the arena.

Soccer Bot Challenge

Depending on the amount of robots we have teams will be evenly created to challenge each other in a game of soccer. The arena will be large to allow for space and maneuvering on the field.

The goal is simple..... to score a goal.

Rules

1. Game will consist of two 5 minute halves. A five minute break in between to allow some strategy talk.

2. A coin flip will determine who starts with the ball. The other team will receive the ball at halftime.

3. All teams start on defensive end of field to start the game.

4. A goal is scored when the ball crosses the goal line in any capacity.

5. A "lack of progress" will be called by referee if ball or robots are stuck and no activity is occuring.

6. No intentional damage to another robot is allowed. If a robot causes damage on purpose, then that robot will be removed for the remainder of the half.

7. No robot may remain in the goal area for more than 20 seconds.

8. Coaches will be on the outside of field to bounce the ball back into play if it rolls out of bounds.

Race Track Challenge

This one is quite simple. Teams of two will build and design one robot. Each team will need to build a race car and a bluetooth enabled EV3 brick controller.

The course will be a figure 8 pattern using cones. You will need to complete two laps where each partner must drive one lap.

Rules

1. You must control your race car using an EV3 brick as a controller.

2. You are not allowed to cause intentional damage to another race car.

3. You may use gears as well as any other LEGO pieces you want to achieve maximum speed and accuracy.

4. Your race car must have an awesome name.
