Cérémonie des Cloches de la paix - Armistice 100

L’initiative des Cloches de la paix organisé pour marquer les cent ans depuis que les cloches d’église se s'étaient mises à sonner pour annoncer aux Canadiens la signature de l’Armistice mettant fin à la Première Guerre mondiale.  À la tombée du soleil en ce jour du Souvenir 2018, les églises de la communauté d'Aylmer et la filiale 33 ont fait sonner les cloches 100 fois pour rendre hommage aux soldats de la Première Guerre mondiale. La cérémonie des Cloches de la paix débuta au coucher du soleil, le 11 novembre 2018 à 16h38 au Centre récréatif Aydelu à Aylmer, Qc.

Bells of Peace Ceremony  - Armistice 100

In honours of Armistice 100 – one hundred years since the end of the First World War – Branch 33 organized « Bells of Peace » which entailed the ringing of bells one hundred times at the setting of the sun on Sunday November 11, 2018.  Bells are a symbolically a strong way to mark important occasions and reminiscent of the ringing of bells to signify peace after war.  On November 11th, 2018, at the setting of the sun, churches in the Aylmer Community and Branch 33 rang the bells 100 times at precisely 16:38.
