The breeze of the moor dances softly across your fur, and your gaze rises to the stars,
"Can’t you feel our presence?"
On the Inside
While they may be perceived as reserved and aloof by the other clans, there is more than meets the eye within the heart of WindClan. Rooted in a profound spiritual connection, the cats of the hills find solace in their close-knit community. These feline spirits move in harmonious synchrony, their steps echoing the ancient tales whispered by the gusts of wind. While their insular nature may make them seem unwelcoming to outsiders, it is their fierce dedication to preserving the sacred traditions that drives their guarded demeanor. Within WindClan, each pawstep carries the weight of their ancestors' wisdom, and they navigate the world with a reverence for the old ways that have shaped them.
As a tribute to their lineage, WindClan has resurrected ranks from the annals of ancient history, Gale Runners and Tunnelers. These revived titles were bestowed upon them by the whispering spirits of the stars, ensuring a bridge between the past and present. The echoes of long-forgotten WindClan warriors now walk among them, infusing their existence with a potent blend of heritage and purpose.
Status Amongst the Others
ThunderClan - Shaky
Gorsestar resents their lack of connection with the ancestors, and is appalled by their entitlement to Starclan's many miracles even so. Solaris in particular irritates her. He's so smug and sly.
RiverClan - Extremely Poor (WAR)
As far as she's concerned, Riverclan is a threat to Windclan's livelihood. With the crazy old loon they've got in charge and his irritable deputy, Gorsestar finds herself playing defense with Riverclan more than anything.
ShadowClan - Fine
Gorsestar has little strong opinions on Shadowclan. Pumpkinstar is kind, and does not bother her. Really, It's all she could ever hope for.
SkyClan - Very Positive
Gorsestar quite enjoys Skyclan. She finds kinship in their leader, however, is occasionally off put by how flippantly she regards the hardships of being a clan leader. Even so, Littlestar's love for her clan is admirable. So too is their friendship.
Outsiders - Poor
WindClan is not accepting to outsiders. Currently, Gorsestar is attempting to follow in the footsteps of leaders before her, and as such is keeping this tradition.
Timeline
4 Moons Prior to the Start of RP-
In the heart of the sprawling hills, a fierce blaze roared through WindClan's territory moons ago, casting a haunting, dark glow across the landscape. The flames devoured not just the dry grass but also claimed the lives of the esteemed leader, Cloudstar, and the steadfast deputy, Scatteredsky. From the ashes, a resilient warrior named Gorsestorm emerged, shouldering the weight of leadership amidst the charred remnants. As the winds whispered tales of loss, Gorsestar courageously guided the clan through the journey of rebuilding, an era of strength and grief that would forever mark WindClan's history.
Specialty Ranks
Regent - The title of WindClan's secondary deputy.
Gale Runners - These agile felines thrive in the open expanse of the moorland, their slender frames effortlessly slicing through the air as they race with the wind. Their lithe build and nimble paws allow them to traverse the sweeping landscape with grace, their every stride a dance of freedom and swiftness. Gale Runners embody the spirit of untamed speed, their connection to the elements propelling them forward like an extension of the very gusts they chase.
Tunnelers - Beneath the surface, a secret realm awaits, guarded by the powerful muscles of WindClan's Tunnelers. These cats dedicate themselves to expanding the intricate labyrinth of tunnels hidden beneath the lake territories. With their sturdy and muscular builds, they possess the strength and resilience required to delve deep into the earth. Their silent pawsteps echo through the underground corridors, a testament to their unwavering determination and resourcefulness.
Sub Ranks
Sky Watchers - Gazing upward, the vigilant Sky Watchers diligently scan the vast expanse of the heavens. Their watchful eyes seek signs of impending storms, for the tempestuous winds can pose a threat to those working within the tunnels. These watchers of the sky serve as a vital warning system, ensuring the safety of their clanmates. When their sharp senses detect an approaching tempest, they swiftly signal to the clan, guiding them to seek refuge within the protective embrace of the underground dens.
Previous Leaders
Cloudstar - A slim, tall white-furred cat with large ears and blue eyes. Their fur was speckled with patches of grayish-brown. NPC, Deceased.
Cloudstar begun their leadership at the age of 42 moons, and had held a faithful and stern leadership until their sudden passing at the age of 128 moons. Having been from a traditional and spiritual generation, they led their clan strictly and effectively, leading solely by the rules of the code and the will of the ancestors. They harshly disapproved of outsiders and half-clan relationships and would, though with sorrow, not hesitate to exile those who participated in such. Despite this, Cloudstar loved Windclan and cared deeply for it, taking great pride in shaping their young clanmates into proud warriors. They met their end suddenly and tragically 4 moons ago, losing their few remaining lives to smoke inhalation following the fire.
Extra Notes
• Instead of healer, they label them ‘Seers.’ The seer cannot take on a mate and kits, the clan is not relaxed on this. The seer is meant to devote their life to StarClan and healing, that is all that is expected and wanted of them. If they take on a mate and kits, exile is expected. Same goes with half clan relationships usually, exile is typically expected.
