LEGACY COACH PRIVACY POLICY

Legacy Coach is run by Stephen Connolly, based in Ireland. For anything
in this policy, or to exercise any of the rights below, email
legacycoachsupport@gmail.com. If you need a postal address for a formal
request, ask and we will provide one.
This policy covers the Legacy Coach iOS app.
THE SHORT VERSION
Most of what you log stays on your phone. Your workouts, your nutrition
logs and your progress photos never leave it.
If you create an account and agree to it, your weigh-ins, check-ins,
macro targets and any messages with your coach are stored on our
servers, so a coach can see them and so your data survives a new phone.
You are asked before any of that happens, and you can say no and keep
using the app.
You can delete your account and everything with it from inside the app,
at any time.
IF YOU DO NOT CREATE AN ACCOUNT
The app works without one. In that case nothing you log is sent to us at
all. The only exceptions are the two in "Things that happen either way"
below.
WHAT WE STORE WHEN YOU DO HAVE AN ACCOUNT
Your account
When you sign in with Apple we receive and store an account identifier,
your name, and your email address if you choose to share it rather than
hide it. Apple lets you hide it, and the app works the same either way.
Your health and progress information
Weigh-ins, meaning your weight, waist measurement and any note you add.
Check-ins, meaning your sleep, energy, hunger, adherence, stress,
soreness and motivation ratings and any note you add.
This is health information and we treat it as such. We only store it if
you have specifically agreed, in a screen that asks you about this and
nothing else. If you decline, the app keeps it on your phone only and
everything else continues to work. You can change your mind at any time
in Settings, and when you turn it off we offer to delete what has
already been stored.
Your targets
Your calorie and macro targets.
Coaching
If you join a coach using an invite code, we store the link between you
and that coach, and any messages between you, including voice notes.
Your coach can see the information described above. That is the point
of joining one.

Your settings
None of this is sent to us. Progress photos in particular never leave
your device.
APPLE HEALTH
If you allow it, the app reads and writes weight, steps and active energy
in Apple Health. That happens entirely on your phone. We do not receive
your Apple Health data. You can withdraw access at any time in the iOS
Settings app under Privacy and Security, then Health.
Note that a weigh-in you enter in Legacy Coach is our own record, and if
you have agreed to health sync it is stored as described above.
THINGS THAT HAPPEN EITHER WAY
Crash reports
When the app crashes or freezes we receive a crash report through
Sentry, containing your device model, your iOS version and a technical
trace of what the app was doing. It does not contain your name, your
email or your health information, and it is not used to identify you.
The food and exercise library
The app downloads a shared library of foods and exercises. If you scan
a barcode or add a food we do not have, that food can be added to the
shared library so other people benefit. It is tagged with a random
identifier created on your device, which is not connected to your
account or to you.
WHO ELSE IS INVOLVED
Supabase hosts our database and file storage.
Sentry provides crash reporting.
Apple provides sign-in, subscriptions and Apple Health.
Open Food Facts is a public food database we query by barcode. We send
only the barcode or the search term, never anything about you.
Supabase and Sentry act on our instructions and are not permitted to use
your information for their own purposes. Where any of them stores data
outside the European Economic Area, that transfer is covered by the
standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission.
We do not sell your information. We do not share it with advertisers.
There is no advertising or tracking in this app, and no advertising
identifier is read.
WHY WE ARE ALLOWED TO STORE IT
For your account, the coaching features and messages: because you asked
us to provide them, which the law calls performance of a contract.
For your weigh-ins and check-ins: because you gave explicit consent, and
only for as long as you leave it in place.
For crash reports: because we have a legitimate interest in keeping the
app working.
HOW LONG WE KEEP IT
For as long as you have an account. Delete your account and it goes,
immediately and permanently, including your voice notes and everything
your coach could see.
Crash reports are kept for a limited period by Sentry and then deleted
automatically.
YOUR RIGHTS
You can ask us for a copy of what we hold, correct anything wrong,
delete it, ask us to stop or limit what we do with it, object to it, or
receive it in a portable form. You will never be treated differently for
asking.
The quickest routes are already in the app. Settings has an export
feature for your own data, a toggle to turn health sync off with the
option to delete what was stored, and a delete account option that
removes everything.

within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can
complain to the Irish Data Protection Commission at www.dataprotection.ie.
CHILDREN
Legacy Coach is not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly
collect information from them. If you believe a child has given us
information, email us and we will delete it.
SECURITY
Information travels encrypted. On our servers, database rules mean your
records are readable only by you and, if you have joined one, your coach.
Files such as voice notes are held in private storage with the same
restriction.
No system is perfect. If a breach occurs that puts you at risk we will
tell you and the Irish Data Protection Commission, as the law requires.
CHANGES
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top and, where
the change matters, tell you in the app.
