Infrastructures are continuously exposed to loads, deterioration, and uncertainties throughout their long service lives. At S³ Lab, we investigate structural responses to diverse loading conditions, including wind, waves, traffic, and impact, as well as time-dependent degradation caused by corrosion and fatigue cracking. By integrating experimental testing, numerical analysis, and probabilistic methods, we quantify how these uncertainties affect structural performance and ultimately assess the life-cycle reliability and risk of infrastructure systems.

사회기반시설물과 같은 대형 구조물은 긴 설계수명 동안 다양한 하중, 노후화, 그리고 불확실성에 지속적으로 노출됩니다. 구조 안전성 및 지속가능성 연구실은 바람, 파랑, 차량 및 충돌과 같은 다양한 하중에 대한 구조물의 응답과, 부식 및 피로균열 등 시간에 따른 재료·구조 성능의 저하를 정량적으로 분석합니다. 실험, 수치해석 및 확률론적 방법론을 통합하여 이러한 불확실성이 구조 안전성에 미치는 영향을 규명하고, 생애주기 관점에서 사회기반시설물의 신뢰도와 위험도를 평가하는 것을 목표로 합니다.
