My educational goals for the future include obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design with a Minor in Arabic in the Spring of 2022. After graduating, I plan on pursuing a Master’s degree in Architecture. As a part of my professional goals, I aim to become a licensed NCIDQ Interior Designer in the state of Georgia. Additionally, I would also like to become a LEED Green Associate or LEED AP. Becoming well versed on the topic of sustainability and technological innovations that combat climate change is a very important goal of mine. Learning, and most importantly, applying the knowledge to my designs is crucial to the health of the environment and its inhabitants. Another professional goal of mine is to assist in non-profit projects such as creating vessels that offer access to water, education, and healthcare to those who may not have access. I am especially interested in putting my Minor in Arabic to use by eventually designing in the Middle East. Practically, this means obtaining a job at a firm that shares these values. This also means that I must take it upon myself to use the resources available to achieve my goals and become educated on the matters that are most important to me such as sustainability and non-profit work. Building upon the lessons I’ve learned from the courses I have taken in my college career, I aim to improve my communication skills, presentation skills, knowledge of environmental science, and practice upholding my moral duties as a designer.
