My recent publications have been about disrupting Whitewashedness in teacher education. The central question is: What does mean to be Whitewashed? In teacher education, the system and structure were created by mostly White educators. The instructional and learning standards, curriculum, teaching materials, representation of cultures, and assessments geared towards a hidden assumption of assimilation and nationalism. It is a fact that we acknowledge not having sufficient non-White teachers, however, it is a real challenge when it comes to identifying what counts as Whitewashed ideologies and perspectives in teacher education, and how to disrupt Whitewashedness for affirming the rights of learners of colors. The following books are what I am currently reading. My publications about Whitewashedness can be found on the Projects, Publications, and Presentations link.
