Portfolio Creation

Final Step: Your LEC Portfolio

To earn Leading Edge Certification, you need to successfully complete all coursework as measured by assignment rubrics and pass the final LEC Portfolio. Adhering to "student choice," as described in the definition of blended learning, you may build your portfolio in any web site construction tool. We recommend using New Google Sites (used by this textbook), Classic Google Sites, Weebly or a public facing class in your LMS. See below for examples of each web site creation tool.

Directions: Crafting your Final Portfolio

The purpose of this portfolio is to showcase your learning during this course. In the future you may want to use this portfolio as part of an employment application or other professional objective. Therefore, you will want to adhere to the following guidelines:

  1. Use the titles of the modules as page names. Do not title your pages “Module 1, Module 2 etc.,” this has no meaning to someone who has not taken the course.
  2. The sequence of your pages should mirror the course. Each module page should include a brief introductory paragraph describing the focus of the learning for this portfolio page. You might also include the module objectives.

Module Reflections in your Portfolio

The content of your final reflections should be narrative in format and clearly address the module reflection questions without restating the actual prompt. Reflections should synthesize the content from your original response (including iNACOL module-specific reflection) with the following updated information:

    • thoughts on implementation (or impact) in your online or blended classroom or coaching position
    • new insights and/or updated reflection based on new learning from subsequent modules

Your pages should be developed as follows:

You may also access/print the Portfolio Checklist as a hard copy.

Home Page should include a personal picture and bio, brief introductory narrative (one or two paragraphs) describing the LEC course, why you took the course and a brief final reflection of your LEC journey.

Optional resume or CV page.

Some of these portfolios may reflect the old course curriculum and sequence, however the portfolio structure and quality remains the same. There are many tools out there in which you can create your portfolio, we have highlighted a few below.
