The International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) Standards for Students. These standards are widely accepted as the foundation for technology implementation and integration in the classroom. For this module we will be looking more closely at the following standards:
Digital Citizenship: Students recognize the rights, responsibilities and opportunities of living, learning and working in an interconnected digital world, and they act and model in ways that are safe, legal and ethical. (Go to ISTE Student Standards webpage for specific indicators.)
Creative Communicator: Students communicate clearly and express themselves creatively for a variety of purposes using the platforms, tools, styles, formats and digital media appropriate to their goals. (Go to ISTE Student Standards webpage for specific indicators.)
Knowledge Constructor: Students critically curate a variety of resources using digital tools to construct knowledge, produce creative artifacts and make meaningful learning experiences for themselves and others. (Go to ISTE Student Standards webpage for specific indicators.)
Additionally, we will be looking at the ISTE Standards for Educators - 2020. Specifically:
Citizen: Educators inspire students to positively contribute to and responsibly participate in the digital world.
The permission guidelines from ISTE do not allow us to provide a pdf version of the standards on this page, however, please go to ISTE's website linked here for the most current version of both Student and Educator Standards.
