Reflection

Growing up with a strong tutoring trend in Hong Kong, tutoring has been a big part of my schedule. My idea is to incorporate my previous experience of attending tutor classes and my passion for bringing opportunity to people to be educated. I decided to work on this idea of online tutoring service also rooted from the recent online learning experience. Although I am not the pioneer in this field, there are still rooms for improvement and for a new perspective in online tutoring.

What I liked about online tutoring is the flexibility. Back in those days when I needed to rush to attend tuition classes in Hong Kong (kudos to my parents for enrolling me into various afterschool activities plus tuition classes), it was very hectic and draining to 15-years-old me. The introduction of online tutoring was definitely a great leap in the tutoring sector and beneficial to many students. Especially to the less fortunate students, who struggled not only financially but also in other parts of their life. In LearnTo, I have done some research to address the problems attested in the past years with other tutoring services and in the classroom.

Overall, it was a challenging assignment. Things seemed easy in the first place but when it comes to putting your thoughts into words and feasible plans, it turned out to be harder than I expected. Putting on the lens of the analyzers and understanding how to interest the potential investor in investing into this service was not easy. There is a market need but making it interesting and unique will continuously challenge us as innovators.
