Morphology syntax -Quiz1
Morphology:
Morphology focuses on the fundamental units in language, which are the smallest units with independent meanings, including roots, affixes, or other morphological forms. Morphology investigates how words are formed, how they undergo changes, and the interrelationships between them.
Syntax:
Syntax concerns itself with how legal sentences are constructed through the arrangement and combination of words. Syntactic rules describe how vocabulary and phrases combine to form sentences, and it examines the structure and hierarchy of sentences, including components such as subjects, predicates, and objects.
This is a linguistic concept referring to various ways and methods in a language through which new vocabulary is created, combined, or transformed. These processes may include:Derivation, Compounding, Conversion, Abbreviation, Borrowing, Phonological Adaptation
These processes can be used independently or in combination, resulting in a diverse range of vocabulary to meet evolving linguistic needs and contexts.
Drawing a tree can primarily help us better understand the structure of a sentence and the parts of speech of each word within it. Through the process of tree diagramming, we gain insights into the analysis and comprehension of sentence construction.
