I have three courses that I would consider illustrative examples of my teaching approach: leadership, statistics, and executive business communication. I've pasted links to them below. Feel free to use them as inspirations for your own courses, and to complete the modules yourself if you find the content interesting.
Please keep in mind all of these courses are works-in-progress, and there are some rough edges that still need generous polishing.
This link above will take you to the website for my 7-week hybrid MBA course on leadership. Students design a self-assessment survey, send it to their coworkers, then use the feedback to set performance goals. They also review another student's survey results and deliver that feedback to them. To prepare for these activities, students practice and development their emotional intelligence skills.
This link will take you to an introductory statistics course designed specifically for learners who don't have a strong background in mathematics, or who aren't very confident in their mathematical ability. The course teaches statistics in the context of an applied problem (analyzing responses from a student course survey and from an employee commitment survey). Through these applied problems, students learn practical skills like how to input and organize data in Excel, analyze data using appropriate statistical techniques, and interpret the results. I also emphasize understanding statistics from a conceptual perspective, so that students don't just understand how to solve a formula, they understand what the formula means and why it's important.
EXECUTIVE BUSINESS COMMUNICATION
The link above will take you to the website for my 7-week hybrid MBA course on executive business communication. We start by learning the writing process within the context of a memo assignment, then translate that memo into an aesthetic slide deck, and use those slides as a basis for a live presentation. Students develop a resume and a LinkedIn profile, as well, and there's a short section on how to write professional emails.
