How to teach science with ease?

A lot of people think that they are only qualified to teaching home school Science if they own a degree in Chemistry or Biology. Some think they have to purchase a whole lab to teach Science properly. Here are a few tips to help understand the best way to teach Science curriculum:

1. All science subjects can be categorized into one of the three categories – Physical, Earth and Life. Whether it’s the universe, animals, electricity, or the body they can all be grouped into the 3 categories.

2. During the early school years you only have to scan the basics of Science. Little children are only required to be familiar with the basics of science such as how do seeds grow? Where do animals live? The existence of planets and stars, and basic knowledge of the working of the human body. This can easily be achieved through books from the library and solving all the questions that a child may have about existence.

3. Different areas of Science can be taught in different years. They do not have to learn about everything related to Science in only a few years. In fact, you can spend your whole life trying to learn about Science and still not know anything. As the child starts to get older you can go in depth about the areas of Science that you are studying.

4. Make a plan of which areas of the 3 groups of science you wish to teach in every year. You may choose to teach a particular area for four years. You could decide on teaching a little bit about each area for two years and then a year on every area in detail. There will be some Science categories that may be more interesting in comparison to others.

You must realize that you are also learning and if you are able to show wonder for the world around you, your little ones will also follow the same example. Science is not a subject that one needs to conquer, instead it is a field one must encounter. There will be some children who will be more interested in the subject in comparison to others, but they all are required to be taught a few basic concepts about the universe and its working.
