Daily communication refers to the way people will use to communicate in their daily life, and it plays an important role in gaining information, expressing emotion, and exchanging ideas. Daily communication happens in every situation such as family, working place, school or any shop. Our course targets learners with some or a little prior knowledge of Chinese. The focus is on developing essential abilities in communication in Chinese, which involves accumulating vocabulary, pronunciation, and grammar. The aim is to enable basic conversation and comprehension in Chinese. Learning Chinese as a beginner provides a "communication advantage"(Duff, P et al.2013). It enhances your ability to connect with individuals from diverse backgrounds and broadens your global communication skills. Being able to communicate in Chinese opens a door to meaningful interactions and fosters connections with a wide range of people. In addition, engaging in daily communication in Chinese contributes to “personal development” for beginners (Moloney, R., & Xu, H. L. 2018). It is a cognitive challenge that expands horizons and improves memory, problem-solving skills, and adaptability. Acquiring proficiency in a complex language like Chinese can foster self-confidence and offer a profound sense of accomplishment.
For this course, we will focus on how to order food in Chinese.
