What are History Connects?

History Connects (HC) are teacher-created resources for elementary learners. This project was inspired and is led by Cheryl Best, a veteran teacher and TPS Alum/Coach. HC were created in response to the remote learning needs during the Coronavirus Pandemic in early spring of 2020.

In supporting this project, we, at LPS, believe that history and primary sources connect us to all subjects. We also believe in sharing and collaborating with others. Therefore, resources were created to be versatile. History Connects can be used individually, in small groups, or for whole group instruction. The Google Slides can be printed or used online. Different sections within a History Connect can be utilized as an assessment. We welcome you to edit and determine how best to utilize the slides with your students.

All History Connects have the following components:

  • Inquiry which includes: an essential question, supporting questions, primary sources, and secondary sources.

  • Vocabulary

  • Communication & Collaboration

  • Writing

  • Reflective Thinking

  • Connection to Standards
