Valleys are low areas of land, normally a river stream in between a range of cliffs or mountains. The most common type of valley is a river valley, which forms over thousands of years. Erosion wears away rock and soil sediments, creating the v shape. There are three contrasting shapes of valleys V, U, and flat.
