Mike Hanson


Michael was the child or two military parents and grew up in New York, North Dakota, and South Dakota. After graduating from Rapid City Central High School, Michael moved to Lubbock, Texas, where he attended Texas Tech University. Michael returned to South Dakota to attend Black Hills State University, where he served as an Instructional Technology Fellow and graduated with a degree in Education. Michael returned to Texas after being recruited by Fort Worth ISD, where he taught middle school Mathematics. During his 8 years in the classroom, Michael has also taught History and Science, and is certified in Physical Education. His passion to coach basketball and to help students is calling him to return to the classroom where he is planning to implement the things learned as a learning coach.

Michael current position is in Birdville ISD, where he champions Birdville ISD's Digital Citizenship program. Michael works collaboratively with both district and campus leaders to support, design, and align instruction to campus and district initiatives. Through co-designed Vision Plans with campus administrators, campus support meets the needs of each campus, while still aligning with district initiatives.

Michael's growth mindset drives him to continuous improvement. This mindset fuels his passion is to help people improve themselves both professionally and personally. He prides himself on assisting an entire campus. From maintenance, support staff, counselors, teachers, EA's, librarians, to administrators. "I am everyone's resource." -Michael Hanson.
