I did a 2-week immersion course with Rémi and found it a great experience in all respects. Rémi and his family were very welcoming and I felt relaxed and right at home the entire time, in fact I slept better there than I do in my own home! They didn't hesitate to include me in gatherings with their friends, and a Sunday hike in the Pyrenees with the whole family was a real highlight. As a teacher and host, Rémi is relaxed but attentive, and always good-humoured. I enjoyed the actual French lessons, which were well-structured and worthwhile. There was a great range of other activities and excursions which I took advantage of, but it's all flexible enough to cater for any level of student enthusiasm! I thoroughly recommend this course and would encourage anyone contemplating it to simply have a few on-line conversations with Rémi and see for themselves.

I just finished my french immersion with Rémi and it was a fabulous week. Rémi offers a wide variety of activities to enrich the linguistic experience. He enjoys sharing his knowledge of the region and he is ready to integrate you into his daily life, that way you can learn the language naturally. Rémi’s immersion course is excellent! I strongly recommend that anyone who has a love of France and French takes the opportunity to learn with him. He’s an experienced and thorough teacher who takes a very professional approach. He’s also fun and understanding.
His wife, Maryline, is a great cook and very good company, as are his children. I thoroughly enjoyed my week and it’s fanned the flames of my love of the language. Do it! Don’t hesitate!

Rémi is a fantastic French teacher. He facilitated our group conversations in a very fluid and natural way. He is extremely well prepared for each class, and provides very thorough notes in vocabulary and expressions covered after each lesson. He fosters a very supportive environment for each student and provides individualized nudges based on areas he observes need an extra boost or reinforcement. We had a fantastic week learning French with Rémi and his family who were so welcoming and generous. Rémi is a fantastic teacher, and he tailored the classes and activities to our needs so that we got the most out of the week. Our French improved a lot during our stay thanks to a good blend of structured lessons, conversations over meals, and helpful pointers from Rémi. The highlights were taking a flight along the Pays Basque coast, hiking in the Pyrenees, and sharing Maryline's amazing meals! We would 100% recommend a séjour with Rémi, a really enjoyable way to improve your French!

I came to Dax for work and Remi was to be my host. My french was passable but I struggled to hold conversations if they went beyond the basics. When I met Remi he immediately welcomed me into his family home. Throughout the stay I couldn’t have felt more relaxed and felt as though I was one of the family! As for the teaching Remi was patient beyond belief as I did my best to destroy the French language but by the end of the stay I was able to confidently converse with people I met, which was exactly what I wanted. As an added bonus he introduced me to the region’s traditions and culture which was delightful. I now count him as a good friend and it’s never au revoir but rather « Adishatz » !!

Mon français était déjà correct quand je suis arrivée, mais cela ne m'a pas empêchée d'en apprendre plus non seulement sur la langue mais aussi sur la culture ! Rien de mieux pour apprendre une langue que d'être entourée de locuteurs natifs. C'est une famille formidable et nous avons passé un très bon moment ensemble. La région est magnifique et il y a plein d'endroits à découvrir. Une expérience inoubliable en faisant de nouvelles connaissances dans cette jolie langue!

Auch wenn ich meinen Aufenthalt bei Rémi und seiner Familie im letzten Jahr aufgrund der COVID-Pandemie leider verfrüht abbrechen musste, habe ich eine wunderbare Zeit bei der Familie verbracht ! Alle waren super herzlich und sehr daran interessiert, einem die Sprache, das Land und die Kultur näher zu bringen. Rémi hat ein super Gefühl dafür, wie man sich auch sprachlich gut einfinden kann, war sehr geduldig und ich hatte viel Spaß ! Die Gegend ist wunderschön und hätte ich mehr Zeit gehabt, hätte ich liebend gern alles erkundet ! Um es kurz zu fassen : Ich würde jeder Zeit wiederkommen und hoffe, dass wir uns in Zukunft nochmal sehen !

I benefitted from a series of 1-2-1 French lessons provided by Remi. He carefully tailored the content to both my interests and to my ability. I found myself being stretched without ever being too far out of my depth. The lessons were always highly engaging even though conducted over video conference. The content was varied between conversational, written with both grammar and vocabulary ranging from the formal to the current conversational and informal. Very useful, I feel like I progressed well in my capability and I will be booking further lessons in the near future!
