This one was the biggest I organised so far, we got around 60 participants to come (+ online).
I co-organized this one from conception to on-site execution, which involved:
- supervising the poster review process and coordinating reviewer teams.
– developping the programme (interactive ormat, speaker selection and invitations)
– coordinating across speakers, laboratory members, administrative staff, venue services, and audiovisual teams
– creating communication materials (emails, posters, website content) + calls for participation and registration
– promoting the event through academic networks and social media
– on-site logistics
– managing participant communication, mailing lists, and certificates of participation.
My goal there was to re-create a "round table" effect, with speakers paired thematically, and allowing the same amount of time for presentation and discussion (30 min) so we can really reach a stage of development of ideas and exchange.
This one was mainly organised by Krzysztof Dołęga, I just helped a bit and was a speaker. The reason why I still put it there, is that I took something unexpected from this experience: the best part of the symposium was the round table. It made me realise that what I want from events I organise, is to encourage discussions as much as possible.

We had the chance to be able to organise this very small workshop during the first year of the phd- without any other guest than people on the program. It was a great opportunity to get valuable early feedback on our work.
