Fall 2025 Courses:
DATA6300 - Data Understanding taught by Dr. Seth Jones and Dr. Kate Miller
How can we say anything about the world when it keeps changing? In this class, you will learn key ideas, processes, and tools for data exploration with a focus on how to engage K-12 students with them so that they grow in their ability to make sense of the world using variable data. We will do this by engaging in authentic data investigations, reflections on the ideas and decisions we make in those investigations, and discussions about strategies for teaching these ideas to your students.
ALSI 7050 - Applic. & Research Sem: Student Learning taught by Dr. Kevin Krahenbuhl
In a world inundated with information, and bombarded with a constant unveiling of more, more, and more, how do educators filter through this to lead effectively? In ALSI 7050, you will explore cognitive factors that influence our reasoning and consider their implications on your role as teacher, as teacher leader, and as person in a data-overloaded world. Through reading, reflections, and applied tasks, we will engage with this question and set a foundation for leading in education in a data rich world.
ALSI 7460 - Leadership for Data Literacy taught by Dr. Gregory Rushton
